Advanced Resuscitation

Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

The course applies to individuals who may be required to use specialised equipment to provide resuscitation in a range of complex situations, including community and workplace settings.

Training is conducted using the Oxy-Viva 3 Resuscitator or similar. Advanced Resuscitation is the minimum course requirement where a person requires the skills and knowledge in the use of advanced resuscitation equipment.

A statement of attainment is issued to successful participants. Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that CPR skills are refreshed every 12 months.

The price includes GST which is only payable on the reference materials provided in the course.

Automated Defibrillation Awareness

This is an easy, short, hands-on course designed to give an awareness of First Aid and covers the basics of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillation. It offers participants the opportunity to learn both theory and practical skills, and demonstrate their newly acquired skills in practical scenarios.

This course is ideal for anyone who only has a short amount of time and would like to learn some basic Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillation skills.

This is a non-accredited course that has no formal assessments.

This course is offered as an on-site option. If you are unable to provide a suitable venue, your group is welcome to use a St John Ambulance training centre.

Basic Emergency Life Support

HLTAID002 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support

Formerly Workplace First Aid

As part of this unit of competency you will be required to perform 4 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor and 4 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an infant manikin placed on a firm surface

This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to recognise and respond to life threatening emergencies in a range of situations.

A statement of attainment is issued to successful participants. St John recommends that you undertake this course every three years. Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that CPR skills are refreshed every 12 months.

The price includes GST which is only payable on the reference materials provided in the course.

Basic Life Support

Basic Life Support is short, hands-on course designed to give an awareness of first aid and covers Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

The course is ideal for anyone who only has a short amount of time and would like to learn some basic resuscitation skills. It is also good resuscitation refresher between accredited courses.

This course is offered as on on-site option. If you are unable to provide a suitable venue, your group is welcome to use a St John Ambulance training centre.

Community First Aid

This an easy, short, hands-on course designed to give participants an awareness of First Aid and covers the basics of resuscitation. It offers participants the opportunity to learn both theory and practical skills, and demonstrate their newly acquired skills in practical scenarios.

Members of the general community and anyone who only has a short amount of time and would like to attend a course that provides them with the vital information needed to learn basic First Aid and CPR skills should attend. It is ideal for community and sporting groups.

This is a non-accredited course that has no formal assessments.

This course is offered as an on-site option. If you are unable to provide a suitable venue, your group is welcome to use a St John Ambulance training centre.

Defibrillation Awareness Online course

St John Ambulance now provides online training via our e-learning platform. In addition to practical first aid training, online courses are an extension of the trusted St John products and services making basic first aid more accessible to everyone.

The St John Defibrillation Awareness Online Course will provide participants with basic knowledge and understanding to enable use of a defibrillator in an emergency situation when required., It is a basic level awareness course, appropriate for anyone who has access to a defibrillator.

St John recommends that all workplace first aiders who have formal responsibility for first aid in the workplace should complete an Automated Electronic Defibrillator program, which includes the practical use of a defibrillator.

Upon successfully completing the online course, participants will receive a St John Ambulance certificate of completion.

Minimum of 20 participants is required to book on to this course

Epipen Administration 90 Minutes

This is an easy, short, hands-on course designed to give participants an awareness of First Aid and covers the basics of anaphylaxis and the correct process for administering an auto injector (EpiPen).

If offers participants the opportunity to learn both theory and practical skills, and demonstrate their newly acquired knowledge in practial scenarios. It is a good first time introduction or refresher for anaphylaxis and administering auto injectors (EpiPen).

Anyone who only has a short amount ot time or is seeking a refresher in the use of auto-injectors (EpiPen) and already has an understanding of anaphylaxis should attend. This course will provide them with the vital information needed to update some basic anaphylaxis, auto injector (EpiPen) and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) skills.

This course is offered as an on-site option. If you are unable to provide a suitable venue, your group is welcome to use a St John Ambulance training centre.

First Aid Drills

This drill has been designed in order to practice existing First Aid skills covered in previous training in a practical format. This is run on-site, utilising your First Aid facilities.

A written report will be provided 10 business days after completing the drill, based on the trainer's recommendations.

This drill is designed for workplaces that already have trained First Aiders on-site and would like to maintain existing skills, processes and equipment.

This course is offered as an on-site option. If you are unable to provide a suitable venue, your group is welcome to use a St John Ambulance training centre.

Health Professionals CPR Refresher

HLTAID001 Health Professionals CPR Refresher

This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

This is an accredited course ideal for doctors, nurses and those in the medical profession who are required to refresh their CPR skills every 12 monthsbr>

Formerly Apply Advanced First Aid

As part of this unit of competency you will be required to perform 8 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor and 8 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an infant manikin placed on a firm surface

This course provides you with the skills and knowledge required to provide an advanced first aid response, including management of the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.

This unit applies to workers who may be required to provide, coordinate and manage a first aid response across a range of complex situations, including community and workplace settings.

A statement of attainment is issued to successful participants. St John recommends that you refresh this course every three years. Australian Resuscitation Concil recommends that CPR skills are refreshed every 12 months.
