St John Ambulance is a ‘user pays' organisation and generates funds through the provision of ambulance services and other business activities such as industrial paramedical services and first aid training. Additional funding is provided by the Department of Health and through grants from supporters such as Lotterywest.

As a not-for-profit organisation, all funds go back into caring for the community, to purchase new equipment, to train personnel and to keep ambulances on the road.

Latest News

St John Ambulance is regularly contacted by the media for information regarding incidents to which ambulances may have been sent. The media also regularly seeks comment on pre-hospital medical matters and concerns, as they arise, about ambulance performance and the performance of other aspects of the health system. St John Ambulance aims to efficiently respond to media enquiries for a number of reasons. The media plays a valuable role in keeping the community informed of social and health risks; we believe that we should be accountable for our performance to the community; and the media can be a valuable vehicle for promoting the work of paramedics, educating the public and promoting public safety messages.
